Northern Woodworking was established as a small family business 2003. We have since grown to include multiple other team members and crews of skilled craftsmen. Our dependable team members and crews handle all aspects of our clients’ projects from initial vision to final punch out. Our team has over 50 years of combined experience and we serve clients all over the Pittsburgh area. We operate a custom woodshop and warehouse as well as a newly renovated design studio in the north Pittsburgh suburbs. We are in search of a Kitchen Designer to join our fast-paced and innovative design team.

 

General Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Design Team Manager, the Kitchen Designer will manage all aspects of client design projects from initial vision to final punch out.

  • The Kitchen Designer will work with the design team to understand client vision, goals and budget, take accurate existing space measurements, create accurate design drawings utilizing 20/20 and/or Chief Architect, place stock, semi-custom and custom cabinetry orders, communicate with homeowners, cabinet manufacturers, project managers and a variety of sub-contractors.

  • A successful Kitchen Designer must also possess strong self-management skills with a desire to work both in collaboration and independently. An ability to meet deadlines and budget constraints is also essential.

  • It will also be important to maintain a record of job activities and hours to ensure clients are billed accurately.

Job Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in the kitchen and bath industry is preferred

  • Highly motivated new graduates will be considered

  • Proficiency in 20/20 and/or Chief Architect, ideally with a focus in kitchen and bath design

  • Great interpersonal skills and a desire to meet with clients
